These sluggers were trouble for any pitcher. But, what seasonal accomplishment distinguishes them among all other power hitters?
Rk | Name |
---|---|
1 | Barry Bonds |
2 | Babe Ruth |
3 | Ralph Kiner |
4 | Willie Mays |
5 | Eddie Mathews |
6 | Edwin Encarnacion |
7 | Rafael Palmeiro |
8 | Albert Belle |
9 | Willie McCovey |
10 | Harmon Killebrew |
11 | Roger Maris |
12 | Mickey Mantle |
Hint: each recorded this seasonal accomplishment at least twice.
Twice as many dongs as doubles was my first guess, and it works for everyone but Encarnacion, Belle, and Palmeiro.
Plus that leaves out a ton of other guys like McGwire and Sosa who probably did that a million times, too.
I tried HR > 35, strikeouts < 100, TB greater than 2x H, and that worked for all these guys, but then Albert Pujols has also done that twice.
Am I on the right track? I don't have the PI so I can't verify my attempts easily.
This part is correct: strikeouts < 100, TB greater than 2x H.
Want to consider when the quiz players did this, compared to others not on the list.
In back to back seasons
Back to back seasons of HR > 30, strikeouts < 100, TB greater than 2x H
You’ve got it ThickieDon, and you don’t even need the home runs. Thanks for playing.
I feel relieved. It was weighing heavily on me for weeks.
Twice within final 8 seasons
Nah doesn’t work for Eddie Matthews.
